A Day with Miss SA

Last week, I was the envy of many
men - I spent a day at the home of the magnificently gorgeous Miss South Africa-Melinda Bam - helping her dress and undress!

So I am sure you would like to know “What did her wardrobe look like?” All I can say is...it was every girl’s dream come true - Cameroon, Forever New and Europa Art took up most of the space.

How often do you go into someone’s home and see this at the front door?

Let me share with you what our day was like.

International Women's Day

I would like to wish you a
Happy International Women's Day for the 8th March!

This day has been observed since the early 1900's. It is the story of ordinary women as makers of history; it is rooted in the centuries-old struggle of women to participate in society on an equal footing with men. It was originally called International Working Women's Day. Across the globe; celebrations surround the respect, appreciation and love towards women.

So I encourage you to take a moment off your screen and think of how abolutely awesome you are!

"The history of all times, and of today especially, teaches that ... women will be forgotten if they forget to think about themselves."

Miss South Africa's Personalised Consultation

Melinda's dress style was a Dramatic/Romantic. This was spot on in terms of representing the image of the Miss SA brand. “My image objective is to always look effortlessly elegant” she said.

After taking her measurements we assessed she is an hourglass figure shape–with the tiniest waist I have ever seen! What was her wardrobe challenge? Having far too many off the shoulder dresses-these can be very limiting as it leaves you with little mix and match options in your wardrobe. Melinda also had too many nude colours in the incorrect tone and hue.

After doing her colour analysis we determined she was best suited to warm colours which were light and clear. Her shopping list now includes more signature shades (turquoise, emerald green, coral) to add a pop of colour to her wardrobe.

As magnificently gorgeous as she is (inside and out) I asked her if she had any body “challenges”. With a cheeky smile she replied "I love my shoes more than my feet."

Melinda is not only a gorgeous face but is sporty by nature and very artistic, she has a BCOM is Marketing and her chosen charity is Bhuthuzela and Banakekeleni foundation in Alexandra which she will help raise money and support for her year's reign.

I can honestly say in the 13 years that I have been consulting for Miss South Africa-Melinda has been an absolute delight to work with and she really “walks the talk”.

She makes me “Proudly South African”.
